This was created after National Day of Civic Hacking in SF on Sep 22. The 311 hotline is used by citizens to report various issues to the city of SF. One category of complaint is "Encampments". There is available data on Open Data showing every single 311 case that has been reported since 2008. Some requests allow media to be uploaded, often an image captured with a cellphone. I filtered all the 311 requests to be "encampment" only, and also filtered by requests containing media. I then used Google Cloud Vision API to extract labels for 1000 (maximum free limit per-month) of them, and wrote a simple index to let users explore.
